Gnetales are an evolutionary step between cone-bearing conifers and modern flowering plants, displaying BOTH cones and flowers. Point Value: 1 Ptero Tidbit: Baby pterosaurs were very independent. Not birds or even dinosaurs! Pterosaurs were flying reptiles, the first and largest vertebrates to fly under their own power. You can explore animals and plants that lived during the Mesozoic Era when you challenge your friends to this pterosaurs card game!

This card is part of a deck co-designed by youth in the #scienceFTW program at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City and game designer Nick Fortugno. The deck was made in conjunction with the AMNH’s 2014 exhibit Pterosaurs: Flight in the Age of Dinosaurs. Download the deck for free from OLogy or buy an official deck.

This deck also has a corresponding augmented reality app that shows you how some of the Pterosaurs moved! Download it for free here.
